About this episode

Adam Gidwitz shares an early version of a brand-new, Grimm-inspired tale and invites listeners to help shape it. After running away from home, Scarlet finds refuge in a strange house deep in the forest, where a kind woman and her seven sons take her in — with one unusual rule: every Thursday, Scarlet must leave before the boys’ mysterious father comes home. As her curiosity grows and a wealthy nobleman named Frederick pressures her to marry him, Scarlet uncovers a terrifying secret hidden inside the house. Faced with danger from both the monsters she fears and the man who claims to love her, Scarlet must decide what truly makes a family — and where she really belongs. This episode is rated…
