Sylvester Stallone Opens Up About The Coldest Call Of His Life — “Sage, He’s Gone”

About this episode

Sylvester Stallone built one of Hollywood’s most enduring images of strength. Rocky Balboa kept getting up. Rambo survived the impossible. But in July 2012, Stallone received a phone call that left him facing something no amount of toughness could defeat. His eldest son, Sage Stallone, was dead at just 36. Fourteen years later, Stallone has described the stark words used to tell him, his initial inability to process what “gone” meant, the guilt that followed and the moment days later when the grief finally broke through.
